V45 MAGNA TECHNICAL FEATURES ELECTRIC SPEEDOMETER/TACHOMETER (Speedometer : V45 SABRE) Speedometer The speedometer The speed sensor Tachometer Pulses from the speedometer. consists of a magnet, speed sensor and speedometer gearbox. produces electric pulses proportional to the wheel speed. spark unit operate the tachometer. The construction of this tachometer is essentially the same as the TACHOMETER 1 ELECTRIC TACHOMETER SPEEDOMETER/TACHOMETER ASSY RECTIFIER INTEGRAL CIRCUIT GIB W/B SPEED SENSOR MAGNET SPEEDOMETER GEARBOX SPARK UNIT IGNITION COIL FUEL /WATER TEMPERATUBE GAUGES In order that the rider will know at all times the water temperature in the cooling system, a temperature indicator is installed. The sensor uses a thermistor, whose resistance decreases with a rise in temperature allowing more voltage to be applied to the L.C.D. lighting more segments. The fuel gauge uses a tank unit which contains a sliding contact and a float. The contact slides back and forth on a resistor as the float moves up and down in the fuel tank. Both gauges contain an L.C.D. unit operated by outputs from a micro-computer for the digital display as shown. THERMISTOR A-D CONVERSION MICROCOMPUTER L.C.D.
