TECHNICAL FEATURES V45 AUTOMATIC TURN SIGNAL CANCELLING SYSTEM (V45 SABRE) GENERAL The system has a speed sensor, angle sensor, control unit, and a solenoid switch besides the turn signal switch. SOLENOID SWITCH (Two-way) The solenoid switch is a small electromagnet mounted in the left handlebar switch with the turn signal switch. When the control unit applies current to it, it returns the turn signal switch knob to the center position. SPEED SENSOR Located in the front wheel hub, it sends electronic pulses to the control unit that are proportional to road speed. This same sensor sends pulses to the electronic speedometer. ANGLE SENSOR A contact-type potentiometer, the angle sensor is located in the bottom of the steering stem. It measures the angle between the steering stem and the frame or steering angle. It sends the amount of steering angle information to the control unit. Note that steering angle is different than lean angle. CONTROL UNIT The control unit is a micro-processor that computes the information from the sensors and turn signal switch to determine when the turn signal should be cancelled.
