HONDA V45 MAINTENANCE BATTERY V45 SABRE: Remove the right frame side cover and inspect the battery fluid level. When the fluid level nears the lower level, remove the battery and add distilled water to the upper level line as follows: Disconnect the negative cable at the battery terminal. Then remove the positive cable. Remove the battery holder plate bolt and plate. Pull out the battery and add distilled water to the upper level line. Reinstall the battery. V45 MAGNA: Remove the right frame side cover and inspect the battery fluid level. Remove the battery when the fluid level nears the lower level line as follows: Remove the seat. Disconnect the negative cable at the battery terminal. Then remove the positive cable. Remove the battery holder plate bolt and plate. Pull out the battery and add distilled water to the upper level line. Reinstall the battery. NOTE: Add only distilled water. Tap water will shorten the service life of the battery. V45 SABRE: UPPER LEVEL LOWER LEVEL V45 MAGNA: NEGATIVE TERMINAL POSITIVE TERMINAL HOLDER PLATE BOLT HOLDER The battery electrolyte contains sulphuric acid. Protect your eyes, skin, and clothing. If electrolyte gets in your eyes, flush them thoroughly with water and get prompt medical attention. UPPER LEVEL MARK LOWER LEVEL MARK BRAKE FLUID Check the front brake fluid reservoir level. If the level nears the lower level mark, fill the reservoir with DOT-3 BRAKE FLUID to the upper level mark. Check the entire system for leaks, if the level is low. CAUTION: • Do not remove the cover until the handlebar has been turned so that the reservoir is level. • Avoid operating the brake lever with the cap removed. Brake fluid will squirt out if the lever is pulled. • Do not mix different types of fluid, as they are not compatible.
